Knee Surgery

This is me as a Zombie and how I felt toward having surgery on my torn meniscus
This is Giordano's pizza in which my roommate and I drove 50 miles just to get it. Best pizza in the world. I absolutely love it. It is my favorite
This is a picture right before my surgery. and Shaven right knee

Well Surgery went well. I tried to soak up my mobility as much as I could before surgery. I went for a hike at South kettle Morraine. Preston had a craving for Giordano’s pizza so we drove 50 miles to get the best Chicago pizza in the world. Cheesy goodness. Then on Monday I rode to the lake and back and then Tuesday was surgery. I get to the hospital. The nurse shaved my right knee. After waiting patiently Next thing I know doctor shows up right at two. They get me in the operating room and they put a mask on my face I took three deep breaths and I was out. I was surprised how good I felt after surgery. They gave me an English muffin and it tasted amazing. I was soon discharged and then Preston drove me to culvers where I ate a double cheeseburger, cheese curds, and a large snickers cement mixer. I scarfed it all down.
We I have mainly been in bed the last two days. Doing light leg exercises in bed. Spending time studying for finals because there is not much to do besides that and watching movies.  Everyone was been very helpful. My roommate gets ice for me and people have been bringing me food and visiting me. I feel very spoiled. I will be happy when i am up and moving around again.

Haircut

Well I finally caved in and got a haircut. Went down to darien, IL and went on a spirituality day retreat at the Carmelite center with Fr. Ed Shea a franciscan. It was a very good retreat. I couldn't believe how deep he was able to bring everyone after just a few hours. I was really impressed with a lot of the guys and the stuff they shared. On sunday I went to merrilville Indiana. That is where the Polish province is. Went to a polish mass. The weather was beautiful. 72 degrees. Got back to Milwaukee that night and it was 37 degrees. How can 100 miles make that big of a difference. Well the food of course was really good after the mass. The old polish women are great cooks. Not to happy today. My right knee has been bothering me for 3 months now. I saw an orthopedic and had an MRI today. I have a horizontal tear in my medial meniscus in my right knee. I'm not happy because I could have had this taken care of a month ago had I listen to the general physician . Instead I listened to the Phyiscal therapist. So that is my fault. Well Surgery is on April 23rd. Suppose to take only an hour. Well it is out of my control now.

Busy

What a busy month March was. Had a fun St. Patrick's day parade in Chicago. It was a long crazy day. It was great having Matt and Sarah in Chicago. I went to Minnesota for Holy week. Attended Easter Vigil With Ryan and Kristy who went through RCIA. Had Easter with the Ouderkirks which was really nice to spend time with them.  Been very busy with school. Last week I had a Philosophy paper on St. Anselm. He is so confusing if you ask me. His argument just goes in circles if you ask me. “That than which nothing greater can be conceived”. I’m glad it is done. I went to a bucks vs the Timebrwolves game and the wolves won. That was cool. When I was in Minnesota my friend Dan took my clay pigeon shooting on a course in Hudson Wisconsin. The shoot gun gave me a good bruise. I was 5 for 25. Not bad I think. Basically one month of school left. It is really getting to be crunch time. I have already been assigned one final to start working on. I have a research paper that I am working on which the topic is inculturization. So it feels like a lot is coming at me. Today I went for a hike in Kettle moraine state park. It is really good for me physically and psychologically to get out in nature for a couple hours.  So that is what’s up.
